Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the full cycle of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the finance team in strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial health while adhering to GAAP standards.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Accounts Management: Oversee the general ledger, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure all reconciliations are accurate and timely.
- Payroll Oversight: Assist in the payroll process by ensuring all payroll entries are correct and compliant with local and federal regulations.
- Compliance & Audits: Prepare supporting documentation for external and internal audits and ensure all tax filings are completed accurately.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy using financial software.
- Team Support: Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
- Certification: CPA certification is highly preferred; CMA or EA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
