Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and tax filings for multiple clients.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes efficiently.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for senior management.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Conduct internal audits and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) is essential.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar Senior Accountant role within the UK.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) is required.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
