Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations and variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling projects.
- Conduct internal audits and implement controls to mitigate financial risk.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
- 3-5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
