Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing for 15+ clients
- Prepare and analyze financial statements with variance reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and state-specific requirements
- Implement process improvements using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage)
- Lead tax preparation and planning initiatives for diverse business entities
- Mentor junior accountants and provide training on new accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (Advanced Functions)
- Proven track record of managing multi-entity accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Virginia CPA license required (or actively pursuing)
- Experience with construction or real estate accounting a plus
