Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including GL maintenance, month-end closes, and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy
- Lead financial audits and implement internal controls to mitigate risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Optimize accounting processes using advanced ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Mentor junior accountants and provide expert guidance on complex transactions
- Ensure tax compliance and support strategic tax planning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and controls
- Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills
- Illinois CPA license required
