Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with detailed variance reports
- Manage complex general ledger reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy
- Collaborate with auditors during quarterly and annual audits
- Develop and implement financial controls to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives for multiple departments
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and audit preparation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and payroll processing
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data
