Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize general ledger operations with meticulous attention to detail
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget forecasting and variance analysis
- Streamline accounts payable/receivable workflows to enhance cash flow management
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with federal/state tax regulations
- Mentor junior accounting staff to foster professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public or corporate sector
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software (Sage 100 a plus)
- Proven track record in financial reporting and regulatory compliance
- Advanced analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder collaboration
- Experience with multi-state tax filings and audit procedures
