Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely reconciliations
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for departmental operations
- Lead audit preparations and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a UK-based organisation
- Expertise in UK GAAP, VAT regulations, and HMRC compliance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (SAP/Oracle experience desirable)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and communicate financial insights clearly
