Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, variance reports, and management accounts
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage complex reconciliations across bank, ledger, and subsidiary accounts
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls for financial compliance
- Collaborate with auditors during external examinations and tax filings
- Mentor junior accountants and process improvement initiatives
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent accounting certification
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in practice or industry
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, Sage, and Excel with macros
- Deep knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC compliance requirements
- Experience managing multi-currency transactions and international subsidiaries
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement
- Proven track record of process optimisation and team leadership
