Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with strict adherence to GAAP standards
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations (KY state & federal)
- Develop financial models and variance analysis for executive decision-making
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize departmental workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of progressive experience
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA required
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software (Sage 100 preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to present to non-financial stakeholders
