Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for executive review.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly classified.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and track accounts receivable to ensure healthy cash flow management.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns; ensure compliance with changing tax regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits to ensure full compliance with corporate policies and GAAP standards.
- Expense Management: Review and approve employee expense reports in accordance with company policy.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Directed: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
