Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Process weekly payroll in compliance with UK legislation, ensuring all employees are paid on time.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare monthly management accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and year-end accounts.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and general ledger.
- Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent professional bookkeeping experience).
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role within the UK market.
- Strong proficiency in Xero or Sage accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
