Responsibilities
- Process and prepare payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules.
- Verify timekeeping records, leave balances, and deduction data to resolve discrepancies before processing.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary journal entries for financial reporting.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax documents, direct deposits, and payroll policies.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including FLSA and tax regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll files, records, and electronic documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end tax documents and reporting.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar financial administrative role.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Ceridian) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws, FLSA regulations, and garnishment procedures.
- Exceptional mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with complete discretion.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
