You will work closely with the Finance department to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations while optimizing our payroll processes.

Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on a bi-weekly schedule, ensuring all hours worked and deductions are correctly applied.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including wage summaries and tax filings, to management and regulatory bodies.
- Administer employee leave balances, track time-off requests, and ensure compliance with FLSA and state labor laws.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax deductions, and direct deposit issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the preparation of annual W-2 forms and 1099s, ensuring data accuracy and timely distribution.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee records and process new hire onboarding paperwork related to compensation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar accounting role (1-3 years preferred).
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Deep understanding of payroll tax regulations, FLSA, and state-specific labor laws.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
