Responsibilities
- Calculate, verify, and process payroll data with precision, including hourly wages, salaries, bonuses, and commissions.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, ensuring accuracy of hours worked, tax deductions, and garnishments.
- Manage and update employee records within the payroll system, promptly addressing discrepancies and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, including quarterly and annual filings.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve timekeeping issues and address employee payroll questions.
- Assist in the implementation of new payroll software and process improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
