Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately and timely process payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly schedule using ADP Workforce Now.
- Data Entry & Calculation: Calculate wages, commissions, deductions, and tax withholdings while verifying time cards and timesheets.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, filing systems, and electronic databases.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and assist with month-end close processes.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors in data and perform precise calculations under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, FLSA regulations, and garnishment procedures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
