Apex Payroll Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic finance team in El Paso, Texas. We are looking for an immediate hire to manage our payroll operations with precision and efficiency.
As a Payroll Clerk, you will be the backbone of our compensation process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process weekly and monthly payroll for all employees using ADP or similar software.
- Timekeeping Management: Review and verify time cards, timesheets, and leave requests to ensure compliance with company policy.
- Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file payroll tax returns, quarterly reports, and year-end statements (W-2s) in accordance with IRS and state guidelines.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, employee files, and general ledger entries.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and employee inquiries promptly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar financial role.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff and management effectively.
