Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [Software Name, e.g., ADP or QuickBooks].
- Calculate wages, deductions, tax withholdings, and benefits contributions with 100% accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute pay stubs, direct deposit confirmations, and year-end tax forms (W-2s and 1099s).
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, deductions, and time-off balances.
- Ensure all payroll records are securely maintained, confidential, and organized for internal and external audits.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date employee files and updating payroll tax tables as required by federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with the HR team to resolve complex payroll issues and implement new payroll policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- 1-3 years of verifiable experience in payroll processing, data entry, or accounting is required.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, Ceridian) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of FLSA regulations, tax laws, and state-specific payroll requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot errors before processing.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
