Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 200 employees using ADP and QuickBooks systems.
- Verify and calculate employee hours, overtime, deductions, and commissions with extreme accuracy.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and labor laws.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks, direct deposits, and year-end tax documents (W-2s).
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts and resolve any payroll discrepancies or inquiries promptly.
- Assist with month-end close processes and prepare payroll reports for management review.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee records and address payroll-related questions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail with the ability to detect errors.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and payroll compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
