Apex Payroll Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our growing finance team in the heart of Baltimore. Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 200 employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax forms (W-2s, 1099s) with the IRS and State of Maryland.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax deductions, and direct deposits.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS system.
- Assist with the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including FLSA and Maryland withholding tax.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a plus).
