Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and monthly payroll using advanced payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or equivalent).
- Verify and prepare accurate timesheets, leave requests, and payroll data for processing.
- Calculate and deduct all mandatory taxes, benefits contributions, and garnishments accurately.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax returns (941, 940, state returns).
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms, and deductions.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and ensure data security.
- Assist with year-end W-2 and 1099 form generation and distribution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing.
- Proficiency with payroll administration software (ADP Workforce Now, Paycor, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of FLSA, ACA, and California payroll tax laws.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
