What You’ll Do:
As our Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the full-cycle bookkeeping operations, from accounts payable and receivable to month-end close procedures. You will ensure our financial reporting is timely, accurate, and compliant with GAAP standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Oversee daily operations for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets, providing insights to management.
- Payroll Management: Assist with payroll processing and ensure all payroll taxes and withholdings are calculated correctly and filed on time.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and accruals, to ensure financial integrity.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting department to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online/Pro and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- GAAP Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and resolve complex financial issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
