Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll for 200+ employees across various industries
- Calculate and garnish wage attachments (tax levies, child support) with precision
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare quarterly/annual tax filings
- Manage time-off accruals and benefit deductions for health insurance, 401(k)s
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies through audit trails
- Generate payroll reports for CFO and external auditors
- Maintain compliance with CA labor laws (e.g., AB 5, PAGA requirements)
Qualifications
- 3+ years processing payroll for 100+ employees in multi-state environments
- ADP Workforce Now or Ceridian certification preferred
- Expertise in CA overtime calculations and leave-of-absence tracking
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and HRIS proficiency
- Familiarity with EEO-1 reporting and Form 1099 processing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to meet strict payroll deadlines with zero tolerance errors
