Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Verify time records, calculate deductions, and manage tax withholdings per IRS and Michigan state regulations
- Handle garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and expense reimbursements with precision
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in payroll reports
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure data security compliance
- Assist with year-end tax forms (W-2, 1099) and internal/external audits
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state operations
- Proficiency in ADP, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Deep knowledge of federal/state payroll laws (FLSA, FICA, Michigan UIA)
- Proven attention to detail with error rates below 0.5%
- PHR certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
