Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [Payroll Software Name] accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate employee timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors.
- Prepare and process payroll tax filings, including state and federal forms (e.g., W-2s, 940s, 941s).
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and pay stubs in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly payroll reports and reconciliation of payroll accounts.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee information and maintain secure payroll files.
- Ensure compliance with ever-changing federal and state labor laws.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar accounting role (1-3 years preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
