Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for over 500 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate data entry and tax filings.
- Review and verify timecards, timesheets, and leave requests to ensure compliance with company policy and labor laws.
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, garnishments, and benefits contributions.
- Prepare and distribute pay statements and manage inquiries regarding pay discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal employee data.
- Assist in the annual year-end payroll processes, including W-2 form generation and 940/941 tax filings.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve payroll-related issues and update employee records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Specialist, or in a similar financial role (1-3 years preferred).
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws, including FLSA and Minnesota specific regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in large datasets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
