Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices accurately and timely, and ensure all client payments are collected efficiently.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and error-free.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for small business clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger, categorize transactions, and ensure all entries are supported by proper documentation.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries regarding their financial statements and account status.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; experience with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients clearly.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines in a remote work environment.
