The Role:
In this flexible role, you will play a crucial part in managing the financial health of our clients. You will work 3 days a week, reporting directly to our Senior Finance Manager. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including sales and purchase ledgers, for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with year-end financial statements, including trial balances and adjustments.
- Process payroll for small business clients using Sage or Xero.
- Provide ad-hoc financial advice and support to business owners.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and internal control procedures.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualified (Part-qualified candidates with strong experience are also encouraged to apply).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in UK accountancy, preferably within a practice environment.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Familiarity with UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance clients.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
