In this flexible role, you will play a crucial part in managing the financial health of our clients. You will work 3 days a week, reporting directly to our Senior Finance Manager. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including sales and purchase ledgers, for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with year-end financial statements, including trial balances and adjustments.
  • Process payroll for small business clients using Sage or Xero.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial advice and support to business owners.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and internal control procedures.

Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualified (Part-qualified candidates with strong experience are also encouraged to apply).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in UK accountancy, preferably within a practice environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Familiarity with UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance clients.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
