In this role, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship as you support our senior finance team. We value potential over experience and are looking for individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily maintenance of the general ledger and recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing supporting schedules.
- Organize and file financial records, receipts, and contracts for easy retrieval.
- Assist in the preparation of basic financial reports and variance analysis.
Qualifications
- A-Levels or equivalent qualifications (GCSE Maths and English C or above preferred).
- Strong numeracy skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP are a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm for a career in accounting and a willingness to study for professional qualifications (e.g., AAT).
