Position Overview:
As an Equipment Compliance Officer, you will serve as the primary guardian of our regulatory standards. You will be responsible for inspecting, certifying, and auditing our equipment fleet to ensure full adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local New Jersey regulations. Your expertise will help us minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections of all provided industrial equipment to verify compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state safety regulations.
- Manage and maintain accurate compliance documentation, including maintenance logs, calibration records, and safety certifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify potential compliance risks and implement corrective action plans.
- Oversee the certification process for specialized testing equipment and ensure all gear is up to date with current industry standards.
- Monitor changes in federal and state compliance laws and communicate necessary updates to senior management.
- Train operational staff on proper equipment handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent violations.
- Generate and submit detailed compliance reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance auditing, regulatory affairs, or equipment safety.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and New Jersey state laws.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites within the tri-state area.
