Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage vendor/client communications
- Assist with payroll processing and VAT return preparation
- Prepare financial statements and management reports under supervision
- Utilise Xero and QuickBooks for transaction recording and analysis
- Support month-end closing processes and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and accounting standards
- Document financial procedures and maintain audit trails
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent professional qualification (AAT Level 3 preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero/QuickBooks)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of UK tax regulations and payroll procedures
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
