Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero and QuickBooks
- Process accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
- Assist with VAT returns and HMRC compliance documentation
- Prepare month-end financial statements and management reports
- Support payroll processing and pension auto-enrolment
- Implement internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies
- Collaborate with senior accountants on audit preparation
Qualifications
- Recent accounting/finance graduate or 1-2 years bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Basic understanding of UK tax regulations (VAT, PAYE)
- AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written communication for client reporting
