Responsibilities
- Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks: Including data entry, categorizing expenses, and maintaining accurate financial logs.
- Reconcile bank statements: Compare financial records to bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare basic financial reports: Generate weekly or monthly summaries of account activity for management review.
- Process accounts payable and receivable: Support the invoicing and payment processes to ensure vendors and clients are paid accurately.
- Support payroll administration: Assist in gathering time sheets and verifying payroll data under supervision.
- File and organize documents: Maintain a clean and organized digital and physical filing system for tax documents and receipts.
- Assist with month-end close: Help compile necessary data to ensure timely closing of accounting periods.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus but not mandatory.
- Basic Math Skills: Strong proficiency in basic arithmetic, percentages, and general math concepts.
- Computer Literacy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is highly preferred).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and maintain high accuracy in repetitive tasks.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
