Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of daily financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process by compiling necessary data and generating reports.
- Process payroll transactions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Assist with financial audits by providing requested documentation and supporting schedules.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to manage general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
- Perform basic data entry and filing to maintain an organized and efficient office environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (internships included).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in financial data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Professional demeanor and a willingness to learn new processes quickly.
