Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation for client accounts using QuickBooks and Xero
- Assist in preparing financial statements and tax documentation for small to mid-sized businesses
- Process accounts payable/receivable with strict attention to deadlines and accuracy
- Conduct bank reconciliations and variance analysis to identify discrepancies
- Support audits by maintaining organized financial records and documentation
- Collaborate with senior accountants on special projects including budget forecasting
- Implement and optimize accounting software workflows for operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0-2 years of accounting internship or entry-level experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP) and tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with high numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn complex concepts
- Valid California CPA exam eligibility (or actively pursuing certification)
