Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and correctly.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the full cycle of A/P and A/R processes, including invoice processing, payments, and collections.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Payroll Administration: Collaborate with the HR and payroll departments to ensure accurate payroll processing and tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the DC government or non-profit sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
