Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, cash flow projections, and collateral valuations to determine credit risk.
- Underwriting: Prepare and maintain credit memos, risk assessments, and credit applications for loan approval committees.
- Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor the credit performance of the loan portfolio to identify early warning signs of default.
- Compliance: Ensure all lending activities adhere to internal policies and federal regulations (e.g., CRA, Fair Lending).
- Reporting: Generate and present regular risk reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with loan officers and relationship managers to provide strategic credit advice.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial risk management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of banking regulations and credit risk frameworks.
- Tools: Experience with credit scoring software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
