Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle bookkeeping process, including sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory accounts in compliance with UK regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure financial reports are ready on time.
- Maintain accurate financial records and organize digital and physical filing systems.
- Process invoices, manage expenses, and handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to improve processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounts preparation.
- Formal qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage).
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
