Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services.
- Submit clean claims to payers and track their status in real-time.
- Analyze denied or rejected claims to identify root causes and appeal them effectively.
- Reconcile daily batch postings and monthly financial statements.
- Communicate with patients and insurance carriers to resolve outstanding balances.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with EMR/Billing software (EPIC, Cerner, or AthenaHealth experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
