Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims accurately and timely to insurance providers.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services to minimize denials.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding statements and billing questions with professionalism.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and post payments received.
- Research and resolve denied or rejected claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
