Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices to clients and insurance payers on a weekly schedule.
- Monitor accounts receivable, identify outstanding balances, and initiate proactive follow-up calls to secure payments.
- Review and correct billing errors, discrepancies, and coding issues to ensure full compliance with payer guidelines.
- Process credit memos, adjustments, and refunds accurately using the company ERP system.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all billing activities and transactions.
- Collaborate closely with the accounts receivable team to resolve complex billing disputes efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of verifiable experience in medical, dental, or commercial billing.
- Proficiency in billing software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong working knowledge of billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) and current payer guidelines is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
