Responsibilities
- Review and submit medical claims to insurance carriers with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform daily account reconciliation and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment plans, and explanation of benefits (EOB) statements.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing policies.
- Identify and resolve coding or billing discrepancies to reduce denials.
- Update patient records and verify insurance eligibility.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business or Healthcare preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or NextGen.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
