Responsibilities
- Process and post patient and insurance payments accurately and timely.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure cash flow.
- Submit and track claims to insurance carriers via clearinghouse and resolve claim denials.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, coding errors, and billing inquiries.
- Generate and analyze monthly billing reports to identify trends and improve revenue collection.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company billing policies.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all billing records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or a related finance role.
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance coding principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
