Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500, UB-04) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage patient billing statements, verify insurance eligibility, and handle patient inquiries professionally.
- Analyze remittance advice and resolve billing denials or rejections efficiently.
- Update and maintain patient billing records in the practice management system.
- Assist in the month-end close process by reconciling accounts and posting payments.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Medical Billing preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare finance.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance billing guidelines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors before submission.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients and insurance companies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
