Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate insurance claims for Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payers
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through proactive follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state billing regulations
- Analyze aging reports and implement collection strategies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify coding accuracy (CPT/ICD-10)
- Generate monthly financial reports for department leadership
- Train staff on billing system updates and policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expertise in Epic or NextGen EHR billing modules
- Advanced knowledge of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing analytics tools
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
