Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers by providing knowledgeable, friendly, and professional service.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure strict compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Cash checks and assist with currency exchange and foreign currency transactions.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for retail banking products and services to enhance customer value.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Assist in the daily reconciliation of the teller drawer and cash drawer balancing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Basic math skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with banking software and systems is a plus.
