As a Weekend Accountant, you'll ensure seamless financial operations during non-traditional hours while supporting our London-based clients. The position requires strong technical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to accuracy in high-pressure weekend environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute month-end closing procedures and financial reporting during weekend shifts
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and reconcile bank statements
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure weekend compliance deadlines are met
- Support weekend payroll processing and employee expense approvals
- Collaborate with weekday team to maintain financial continuity
- Implement weekend-specific internal controls and audit procedures
- Generate weekend financial analysis and management reports
Qualifications
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent accounting certification
- Minimum 3 years experience in financial accounting
- Proven weekend shift or non-traditional hours experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (SAP/Oracle)
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and weekend-specific compliance
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
