Are you an experienced Accountant looking for an immediate opportunity in the heart of Chicago? Apex Financial Partners is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our dynamic finance team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a collaborative work environment.
As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and supporting our growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies immediately.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and local, state, and federal tax reporting.
- Support the budgeting process by tracking expenses and providing variance analysis.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers and general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required.
