Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations for Virginia and Florida.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and identify variances or discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and support external financial audits.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance is a plus.
