Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Handle accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations for all client accounts
- Assist with VAT returns, payroll processing, and statutory filings
- Provide financial insights and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with senior accountants on audit preparation and financial reviews
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accounting certification
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in public practice or corporate accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong formula and pivot table skills
- Experience with UK accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation and HMRC compliance requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and analysis
- Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interactions
